What goes around comes around....

Our study buddy experience continued with a trip to one of the most notorious locations in Hanoi.

Here is the front entrance to the "Hanoi Hilton", the prison that housed prisoners of war during the Vietnam War.

Despite numerous visits to Hanoi in the past, I had yet been able to visit this former prison. We spent some time here during our "study buddy"
experience.

The somewhat ironic attribute of this prison is that it was orignially built and used by the French to hold those fighting against French colonization. In 1954 it was turned over the Vietnamese. And the rest, as they say, is history.

In this somewhat creepy display, prisoners are depicted in stocks.

One of the more famous former prisoners housed here was Senator John McCann. The jumpsuit he was wearing when we was captured is on display here.
